Thatcham S5-2

The Thatcham S5-2 classification is an S5 tracker with tag but also an full Category 2 immobiliser. This is ideal for customers who require an S5, where the Insurance company is also asking for an aftermarket Cat 2.

This is the highest level of tracker available today, and the vehicle can also be remotely immobilised from restarting, via the app.

Please ask if this system is suitable for your vehicle, as the vehicle dictates the device. There are also other options where this is not the best solution.

No Tag No Start

This is a ‘No Tag No Start’ system. Meaning the tag must be in the vehicle to disable the immobilisation and be able to drive. This combats Key Cloning, OBD port theft, skeleton key access and other similar types of modern theft.

To be able to drive the vehicle the thief will need the unique tag programmed to your S5 tracker. Each device is different and the tags cannot be cloned or overridden. Only you will know that the vehicle requires the tag, and the vehicle simply will not start without it.

Hard Wired and Hidden

All our trackers are hard wired and hidden. This forms a large part of the security of the system. Its not just the device, but how it is fitted that makes the difference. Customers should therefore expect their vehicle to be with us for the whole day, ensuring an unrushed install, fitted to the highest of standards.

All Thatcham Approved

With the S52 both the tracker and immobiliser are Thatcham Approved. The tracker is a 'Category S5: Vehicle Tracking System' and the immobiliser is a 'Category 2: Electronic Immobiliser'. These are Thatcham specifications and therefore will be recognised by all UK Insurers.

However we do recommend that customers do not inform their Insurance company mid-term about an changes. Generally, there will be no reduction in premium but customers will incur a policy change fee of about £25.

Free App

All trackers now come with a free downloadable App. This allows customers to track their asset, and works on top of the secure monitoring required for Insurance.

Through the App you can view where the vehicle is, see history and other basic functions more usually associated with self-tracking.

Your vehicle tracker will be fitted at our secure workshop in Fareham. We are not mobile, however, customers can wait for their tracker to be fitted or wander around local warehouse shops. Fitting takes 3-6 hours depending on vehicle.
