The Autowatch 695 alarm is a Thatcham Approved 2:1 CanBUS upgrade system. This device works with your original factory supplied remotes and gives interior, door and bonnet protection.
Autowatch 695 fitted for £379* (see notes below)
These car alarms upgrade systems are for more modern vehicles that rely on a central CANBus configuration. This gives more efficiency with electrical systems within the car and allows devices to follow-on from each other instead of being wired separately. Upgrade alarms work seamlessly with these systems giving all the requirements of the new alarm but not interfering with devices already working in the car.
For CANBus vehicles this is a cost effective and efficient way of giving a car alarm for insurance purposes. The 695 is a full Thatcham Approved 2:1 upgrade, turning a factory supplied Category 2 immobiliser into a full Cat 1 alarm system. All UK destined vehicles now come with a Cat 2 fitted at manufacture, however your Insurance company may require a Cat 1 to insure against theft. Customers may also be able to achieve insurance discounts for a full Cat 1.
This upgrade alarm will give interior protection, via the ultrasonic sensors fitted into the cabin area. This will trigger the alarm should there be any movement within this protected area. The alarm system is also wired to give protection for the car doors, bonnet and boot, again triggering the alarm should contact be broken.
The 695 relies on the vehicle remote supplied at the time of manufacture. When some vehicles are originally supplied with one remote and one key to manually open the doors, upgrade remotes can be bought from us. However please be aware that these new remotes are unable to unlock the car doors. In reality this means that should a single factory remote be broken, then you disarm the car with the new alarm remote but open the doors with the original key. Customers can then safely drive to the local dealer to purchase a replacement factory remote.
With Autowatch alarms there is the option to add wireless sensors to protect habitation doors in leisure vehicles or other similar extra areas of vehicle protection.
Depending on the vehicle it may be possible with this system to temporarily disable the ultrasonic interior sensors to give 'pet mode'. Different cars may do this in different ways, for example the Ford Transit requires a turn on / off of the ignition 3 times, however Fiat Ducati, Mercedes Viano or Vito can do this from the factory remote. Please ask for your vehicle's individual possibilities.
* Extra Parts and Labour will incur a reasonable additional charge as some vehicles require extra time for fitting e.g. Nissan Elgrand adds £80 to any alarm system, built motorhomes may need extra installation time, and door motor fitting is charged extra on a per door basis.
