A Thatcham alarms upgrade is a factory upgrade system. It adds a battery back-up siren and interior sensors while still using your original factory supplied remotes. Sometimes extra features can also be added like wireless sensors or a PIR, however this depends on the vehicle and the relevant system.
In rare instances cars and vans may require a manufacturer's turn-on by your local dealer for the system to work. This is because some vehicles require the ECU to have their factory alarm function enabled. This is not included in our pricing and customers will need to arrange this through their local dealer after the alarm has been fitted. We can let you know at booking if this is necessary.
All our upgrade systems are Insurance approved car alarms. There are some differences between the brands that mean different types are suited to different vehicles.
