This is a free App and runs along side the monitoring centre tracking necessary for Insurance. This app allows you to self-manage your asset, seeing where your vehicle is or just to estimate how much time before the driver will be home!

Another useful feature is to see where the vehicle is parked when you have multiple drivers, or even on some occasions simply forgotten where you parked!

S5 Tracker with Immobilisation

This is a Thatcham S5 tracker with immobilisation. Like all Thatcham S5 trackers the driver carries a unique tag on their keyring which identifies that the legitimate driver of the vehicle is in the car when moving.

With immobilisation means the tracker is fitted with 1-point immobilisation. Giving an every time deadlock when the ignition is switched off. This is then deactivated by the S5 tag being in the car before starting.

The S5 tag with immobilisation combats modern forms of theft including relay attack, key cloning, OBD port theft, and more. This means that if a thief gains entry and tries to start the car without the tag present, it will not start. The S5 tag also combats lifting and towing by sending an alert to the monitoring station if the vehicle is on the move without the tag.

The S5 with immobilisation is appropriate for high value vehicles that are easily stolen. Customers can also opt for a basic S5 tracker with a dedicated car immobiliser for extra security.

Recognised by Thatcham

The Eco Trak Immo is recognised by Thatcham. This means it has been tested by the Government backed MIRRC based in Thatcham. Devices are tested to withstand attack for a set number of minutes and then given a Thatcham TSC number. The number for the Eco Trak Immo is TSC577.

This TSC number is required by Insurance companies to ensure compliance. However customers also require an ongoing monitoring subscription to maintain Insurance compliance.

24/7 Monitoring

Included in the price of this car tracking system is a 1-year 24/7 monitoring subscription. This service is provided by a dedicated secure monitoring station, again where the rules are set by Thatcham.  

Each vehicle tracking company has there own monitoring station, however the way these stations is run is similar between the different companies. Most noticeably, is that they will always have procedures in place for vehicle recovery. This means if an anomaly is detected the recovery procedure starts, often beginning with a phone call to the registered keeper to determine the status of the vehicle, right up to informing the police or arranging recovery of a stationary vehicle.

After the first year has expired customers can buy a new year’s subscription directly from the Eco Trak website. Current yearly cost is £180 inc VAT.
