The Hornet Maxx1 is a car alarm suitable for older cars and vans. It provides door, boot and bonnet protection and comes with its own immobilisation.

Cat 1 Alarm with Immobiliser

This is a Cat 1 Alarm with its own immobilisation. It sits along side any immobilisation already on the car, fitted at the time of manufacture. Original immobilisers only provide weak security as they are all the same and fitted in the same place. The immobilisation provided with this alarm system stops a thief from starting the car easily.

Should a thief gain entry they will have to locate the immobilisation cuts and make them good. Only then will the vehicle start. While this is happening the car alarm siren will sound making discovery more difficult.

Expert Car Alarm Installation

We provide expert car alarm installation at our unit in Fareham. This is a bespoke installation service for cars, vans and motorhomes.

The Maxx1 is an analogue system, suitable for older vehicles that do not have a central CANbus wiring configuration. For modern vehicles we would generally suggest a similar product more suited to modern wiring.

We have been fitting car alarms since 2001 and can advise you on the best product for your car. We have also been fitting the Maxx1 since that time and know what is appropriate for vehicles.

For customers who have a non-movable vehicle we recommend recovery to our unit in Fareham. We have a dedicated bay for immobilised vehicles and can keep the car or van secured, until the new system is installed.

Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm

This is a Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm. Meaning the system has been verified by Thatcham and is therefore Insurance Approved.

The Hornet Maxx 1 has the highest level of Thatcham Approval being a, Category 1: Alarm and Immobiliser. It will therefore satisfy any Insurance company needs. However if a Car Insurance company asks for a Thatcham Approved Tracker then we can provide that on top of the alarm or as a separate job. Please see below.

Maxx 1 Remotes

The Maxx 1 comes with two 4-button remotes. These can be attached to your keys and have simple 'arm' and 'disarm' buttons. To use at nighttime, without the chip, simply press the 'aux' button before 'arm' or 'disarm'.

If your vehicle already has central locking – i.e. the key locks/unlocks all the doors, then we can tag off of this system. Here arm and disarm will lock and unlock all the doors, from the hand held Hornet remote. If you car does not have working central locking, then adding door motors may be an option, at extra cost.

Installed Product

Please note this is a product that must be fitted by an authorised installer. This avoids potential fire risk and damage to original car wiring that can take place if installed incorrectly. We also make sure all modules are well hidden and wiring secure, with all fitted to Thatcham standards.

Unfortunately, we cannot supply this product to the general public uninstalled.
