Motorhome Alarm

This package includes a motorhome alarm and is a Thatcham Category 2-1: Alarm upgrade. We use the Autowatch 695 alarm and this raises the status of the factory fitted Cat 2 immobiliser, making it into a full Category 1 system.

The 695 does not come with immobilisation as all 2-1 systems concentrate on adding the alarm features to the van. This includes interior ultrasonic sensors, battery backup siren and door intrusion protection.

This alarm is more about protecting the contents inside the van from opportunists and is especially useful while at a destination site. You can leave the van all day and know that if somebody does try gain entry then the alarm will trigger and the siren will sound.

It is also worth remembering that 1-point immobilisation is provided through the tracker system.

Motorhome Insurance Tracker

This motorhome Insurance tracker comes with its own immobilisation. This is an every time stop immobilisation that can only be disabled by the tracker tag being present. This is also referred to as, 'no tag no start'.

This means that even if a persistent thief was to gain entry then the vehicle would not start even with a cloned key or relay attack device.

The tracker immobiliser provides an extra layer of security that stops the vehicle from being taken in the first place. This means that the vehicle is less likely to need recovery after the event. It also gives peace of mind that stealing the van is much more difficult.

Tracker Subscription

For this tracker to remain Thatcham and Insurance approved it requires an active tracker subscription. This covers the cost of monitoring 7/24/365 days of the year and means that should the vehicle be moved without the authorised tag then an alert is sent to the monitoring station.
