Wireless Motorhome Alarm System - Cat 1 Non-CANBus

This is a wireless motorhome alarm system suitable for older vans. The Autowatch 457 RLi is supplied with two dedicated alarm remotes, with 'pet mode' facility, and ultrasonic sensors for the cabin area. It is a full Category 1 alarm, Thatcham Approved and ideal for Insurance purposes.

Motorhome Security Device Installed

Autowatch 457rli This motorhome security device is installed on non-CANBus vehicles. These are generally older vans built before the revolution in wiring took place around 2005 to 2010. Vans built before this time are considered non-CANBus and do not have a central electronic system running all electrics. Please note there was also a transition period where some features are in place, and this all depended on the manufacturer choices at the time.

Autowatch Four Button Remote

With this alarm you get two four-button remotes. These provide all alarm features and are capable of unlocking the doors by a button press giving remote central locking, however this function relies on the van already having central locking (key in driver's door lock opens all doors).

We can supply and fit door motors to most vehicles should they not already a have the central locking feature. This will cost extra as door motors are required and this can considerably extend the alarm installation time.

Thatcham Approved Motorhome Alarm

Wireless reed switch The Autowatch 457 RLi is a Thatcham Approved motorhome alarm suitable for Insurance purposes. Thatcham have approved this system for Category 1 Alarm and Immobiliser (CAT 1) use, it is made to a high standard with built-in immobilisation and protection via ultrasonic sensors. This makes it compliant with any UK Insurance company, and we supply a valid MESF certificate of fitting compliance.

With motorhomes customers may need to pay extra for wireless reed switches depending on their type of van. For the device to be compliant all habitation doors or points of entry to the living area need to be protected and we use wireless reed switches. This is a required function if the alarm is fitted for Insurance purposes, and it is the customer's responsibility to make sure the batteries of these wireless sensors are changed regularly.

Wireless reed switches are fitted at a cost of £65 each.

Pet Mode

The Autowatch 457 RLi can also be used to provide the useful 'pet mode'. Here owners can sleep in their van with the alarm still active. Simply press the remote to arm the system and then press the arm button again to disable the interior sensors. Now any movement inside the van will not trigger the system. However, if a door is opened, including those fitted with wireless sensors, this will cause the alarm to trigger.

Wireless PIR Sensors

It is also possible to provide a PIR sensor to protect the living area of the motorhome. This may be necessary if the ultrasonics, fitted in the front cabin, are not able to stretch into the larger habitation area of the van.

Additional wireless PIR sensors are fitted at a cost of £75 each.
